Beach bar and restaurant, refined cuisine
In a picture-perfect setting, String Beach is an idyllic venue where you can enjoy delicious French and Caribbean cuisine. The open terrace and the two wooden karbays on the sand beckon you to come and savor lunch at the slow pace of the Tropics, looking out to sea and Green Caye island. Such tempting views will make you want to take a dip in the sea before sitting down to eat.
In this family-friendly restaurant, we particularly appreciate the homemade acras (codfish balls), the breaded squid and the crab and avocado roll as appetizers. Fish lovers will undoubtedly be delighted by the breaded Mahi-Mahi with coconut on a bed of leeks, served with creamy rice and vegetables. For meat lovers, we recommend the rack of lamb with its honey and thyme sauce, sautéed potatoes and a carrot velouté. String Beach’s homemade Tiramisu deserves a special mention, as a proud tribute to the famous Italian dessert.
String Beach is open daily from 8am until sunset (closed Mondays in low season).
French and Creole cuisine
You’ll be able to choose between a large breezy dining room, a smaller air-conditioned area with a view of Chef Olivier’s kitchen, or outside seating in the patio herb garden. As far as decoration is concerned, we loved the antique treasures from Les Puces de SXM arranged in the lobby to delight your eyes before moving on to your taste buds.
As an environmentally conscious venue, the restaurant takes pride in privileging local or Caribbean products and recycling waste. This philosophy is echoed in French-style cooking interwoven with Creole flavors. Rockland farm-fresh eggs, freshly-caught fish, artisan Willy Ice Cream, Ti’Zen teas or Pelikaan beers; you can indulge in all these island flavors at Aux Mets Tissés where home-cooking is the central policy, from the chef's own charcuterie and smoked fish to crisp pastries that make the perfect breakfast or tea time treat. Fresh, flavorful and creative cuisine showcased through new dishes every day.
The restaurant is open Monday to Saturday until 6pm, except for Thursday evening when hours are extended for gourmet after-work dining starting at 6pm.
Creole & Traditional cuisine
Danitza’s real passion is to offer customers a taste of happiness. Her cuisine is a wonderful blend of Caribbean roots and international influences, inspired by strong family traditions, expertise acquired at the Star Career Academy in Long Island (New York) and above all, her great curiosity that is always bringing something new to her dishes.
Danitza provides a home catering service. Every week, she also posts menus on her Facebook page “Good Food & Mojitos”. When she’s not been booked for a private event, you’ll be lucky enough to be able to place an order for her culinary creations. She usually offers breakfast every Tuesday and lunchtime dishes on Wednesdays and Thursdays. On Friday evenings, Danitza serves Mexican street corn and loaded fries (a very generous serving!), a specialty of hers.
The young chef’s specialties don’t stop there, she is also renowned for her corn curry with pork tail and dumplings, or her French toast with Grand Marnier that is served with her XXL breakfasts. You'll also see that she likes to work with seafood and lamb chops... The only thing left to say about Danitza's cuisine is... “dig in!”
Ice Cream Bar
This place is a sure bet: in 2022 La Dolce Vita won first prize for the best dessert at the St. Martin Culinary Festival. That’s why we highly recommend coming to taste the creations of Italian-born Andrea Tarantino, who impressed the jury with his plantain tiramisu. You can find this delicious creation at the ice cream parlor, along with his other specialties, including chocolate mousse, ‘rocher coco’, coffee tiramisu and lemon tiramisu.
La Dolce Vita is not a place where you’ll be able to resist temptation. The sorbets and ice creams come from Willy Ice Cream, a reference for local ice cream connoisseurs.
With this brand, you can be sure to expect balanced flavors, with just the right amount of sugar. There are so many flavors to choose from, and every week, you'll find new creations on offer. Soursop, passion fruit, mango, salted caramel and white chocolate with coconut are the signature best sellers.
Open every day from 11am to 10pm at Boulevard de Grand Case (facing the lolos (local restaurants).

French cuisine
The majestic architecture of the West Indies shopping center beckons you to stroll amid luxury and sophistication before treating yourself to a revitalizing break at La Terrasse.
The restaurant is blessed with a panoramic view that can be enjoyed any day or night of the week. For lunch, opt for the air-conditioned interior or the shady outdoor areas. At the end of the day, the setting sun offers a sparkling picture to be admired as you sip a cocktail, while the evening brings a cozy, romantically subdued atmosphere where couples can savor their bond.
La Terrasse will get your tastebuds buzzing with bistro-style cuisine that places the spotlight on traditional French dishes: Snails in garlic butter, eggs en cocotte, lamb shank confit, roast corn-fed chicken supreme, etc. The chef also takes a few liberties with Asian and Caribbean food culture, proposing his own chicken spring rolls, Buddha bowls, mahi-mahi filet in Creole sauce, or mi-cuit tuna with teriyaki sauce. For dessert, you won’t be able to resist the nutella tiramisu. The restaurant proposes free delivery on certain dishes from Monday to Friday.
Don’t hesitate to contact them if you’d like to rent this idyllic venue for a private function, be it a family occasion or a corporate event.
